Arthur Melo to Juventus : confirms Barcelona on twitter

On their official website, Barcelona announced that the Italian club will play the club at about 72million euros and 10millions as add on variables. Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported some days ago that Arthur is going to sign a long term deal with Juventus. The official statement fro FC Barcelona proved his reports true.

Barcelona manager Quique Setien has expressed his concerns before that Arthur might leave the Catalan giants in the future and he is not happy with that as Setien sees Arthur as a dependable player of his squad.

“This that is happening is absolutely abnormal. In principle I still have Arthur. He is important as the rest. He will train and he will travel and has the possibility of playing, I hope all this noise does not affect him and that if he plays, he tries to give the best of himself. I do not take it for granted that he is going to leave. The club has not informed me Arthur is leaving. He will be with us until the last game of the season. If it happens, I will try to convince him to leave a good impression. The most important thing is, to be honest until the last day and I am convinced he is.”

Quique Setien, Barcelona manager

Arthur has shown his capability at Barcelona. He played 72 games for the club, scored 4 goals and provided 6 assists.

Still any surprise!

Another speculation was going that Juventus and Barcelona will swap their two players regarding this deal. That is Arthur to Juventus and Miralem Pjanic to Barcelona. Also, Barcelona will get 10 million euros to add sons. But nothing is mentioned on the website of Barcelona regarding this. But Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that the clubs have reached an agreement regarding a swap deal.

Arthur to Juventus: The player’s view on the move

Here’s what the player himself had to say about this move to Juventus:

Ringrazio per il grande interesse da parte della @juventusfc per l'integrazione alla società. Sò di andare ad appartenere ad un grande club; ci aspettano molte sfide da superare insieme ai bianconeri. pic.twitter.com/SN6ud64xie

Arthur’s view on the move

Juventus is currently holding the top position of Serie A with 69 points, 4 more than second-placed Lazio. Barcelona, on the other hand, is fighting with Real Madrid for the La Liga title and is currently second in the table. Arthur to Juventus is surely a boost in midfield for the Old Lady and the fans can expect their midfield problem will be solved with this deal.
