Real Madrid will face Espanyol on Sunday in an away fixture in La Liga. Here’s our exclusive Espanyol vs Real Madrid match preview.

The Royal Whites will take on Espanyol on Sunday to further bolster their lead at the top of the table as the title rivals Barcelona dropped points against Celta Vigo yesterday.

Team News

Our Espanyol vs Real Madrid match preview also includes the predicted lineups of both teams.

Espanyol

The Catalan side are in the grasp of relegation. They will try to give their very best, but against a Real side, it won’t be easy to get points. From the team talks, it is confirmed that Sebastien Corchia is expected to miss this fixture due to injury.
But the good news for the Catalan side is Leandro Cabrera and Bernardo Espinosa are both back from suspensions and are expected to start today’s match. There is also news of some rotations in the starting eleven with Wu Lei and Oscar Melendo are expected to make the cut.

There are some notable suspensions for the Real side with Ferland Mendy and Luka Modric both are out of the match with their bookings against Real Mallorca match. Luka Jovic, Nacho and Lucas Vazquez are already out of the match with long term injury layoffs.

Marcelo is expected to replace Mendy in the starting line up. Casemiro is back after a one-match suspension, he will very likely be paired up with Valverde and Kroos in midfield. Asensio is expected to come on in as a substitute in later part of the match. Bale may sit out giving Hazard a chance to feature in the first eleven.
