With the new Premier League season just around the corner, Fantasy Premier League managers will now be thinking of building their initial Fantasy Squad. The roster of players to choose from is huge, but with the 100 million budget, you will need to make your choices carefully. On top of that, you are given the captain’s choice, which may be one of the most important decisions to make in the Fantasy Premier League. The captained player earns double points which can end up saving your week. This is a list of those players that have proved their capabilities in recent weeks and have relatively easy fixtures coming up. These players are seen as potential candidates for the armband as your FPL Gameweek 12 Captain.

Welcome to the Gameweek 12 Captaincy Picks as we look ahead as to what is a Friday deadline, due to the early fixture between Leeds and West Ham United.

Mohammed Salah (Midfielder) 12.3 million

FPL Gameweek 12 Captain: Mohammed Salah

Salah has been a very popular choice this FPL season, and that is for a reason. He is currently running an average of 6.7 points per game, with a total of 87 points so far in this season. Only Kane (98) and Son (100) have more. The Egyptian has netted 9 times so far this season, ranking 3rd so far in the running for the Golden Boot, sitting behind Son and Calvert-Lewin. He has also fired 38 shots in total this season, which is topped only by Kane and Bamford, an outstanding figure. Liverpool comes up against a shaky Fulham side. So far, they have kept only one clean sheet, and they have conceded a whopping 21 goals, ranking second in the league. Only West Bromwich Albion have conceded more than Fulham (23).

Jamie Vardy (Forward) 10.3 million

With 9 goals and 2 assists so far this season, Vardy is a clear contender for the captain’s armband. He ranks joint-third place with Salah in the list of top-scorers, which has earned him a grand total of 74 points, and an average of 5 per game. He has hit 23 shots altogether with 16 on target, joint-fourth highest with Kane, giving him a solid, 70% shot accuracy. Salah, Bamford, and Calvert-Lewin all fare better. A driven Leicester play at home against 16th place team, Brighton. They have conceded a huge 18 goals, the fourth-most in the league, leading to a tally of 1.64 goals conceded per match. Vardy will surely be a handful for the Brighton defense.

Heung-Min Son (Midfielder) 9.6 million

GW1 Ones to watch: Son Heung-min
FPL Gameweek 12 Captain: Heung-Min Son

One of the most flashy players for FPL this season is the Spurs man, Heung-Min Son. He has racked up a fabulous 100 points (a league-leading score), with an average of 8.7 per game. He has 10 goals in 11 appearances for the North London club, which is the second-highest in the league, with only Calvert-Lewin topping him. That gives him a brilliant 0.91 goals per game. As well as scoring, Son contributes to the build-up as well, assisting twice and setting up 3 big chances. Spurs play away against Crystal Palace, a team that has conceded 16 goals so far this season, keeping just one clean sheet. This tally gives them a stat of 1.45 goals conceded per game on average.
