With half of the Premier League season is over and the table has started to take shape, Fantasy Premier League managers will now be thinking of re-building their initial Fantasy Squads ahead of FPL Gameweek 20. The roster of players to choose from is huge, but with the 100 million budget, you will need to make your choices carefully. Amongst the roster, there are some individuals that have proved their capabilities in the previous seasons with stellar performances. This is a list of those players, it is a good idea to have a few of these as your marquee signings as your FPL players in your 2020-21 squads ahead of the FPL Gameweek 20.

We are here with the Watchlist series ahead of Gameweek 20 to identify some of the players that caught the eye over the last few weekends. Here are some of the players in our FPL Gameweek 20 Watchlist who are possible options to transfer into the Fantasy team over the coming game weeks.

Luke Shaw (Defender) 4.8 Million

Luke Shaw
FPL Gameweek 20 Watchlist: Luke Shaw

With 3 clean sheets in the last 5 game weeks, Shaw has 3.7 points/game. No FPL defender better his tally of 15 attempted assist and Cancelo has created as many big chances as him, that’s 3 over that period of time. Manchester United has conceded 4 goals in the last 5 game weeks keeping 3 clean sheets and they ranked 8th for big chances conceded over that period. And Sheffield United, their game week 20 opponent is unlikely going to affect the kind of stat.

Matt Targett (Defender) 4.6 Million

Matt Targett
FPL Gameweek 20 Watchlist: Matt Targett

With one assist and 3 clean sheets, Targett has an average of 5.5 FPL points/game in his last six game weeks. The upcoming fixture for Aston Villa is quite favorable as Villa will face strong opponents (from the top 5 teams of the current league table) only once in their next 11 game week that run includes favorable ties with Burnley Brighton Shef United and Fulham. Therefore it projects a very good chance of bagging clean sheets for Aston Villa defenders. Additionally, the left back picked up a massive 18 point haul in double game week 19 for his side to prove his worth.

Ilkey Gundogan (Midfielder) 5.5 Million

Ilkey Gundogan
FPL Gameweek 20 Watchlist: Ilkey Gundogan

No FPL midfielder has scored more goals than Gundogan in the last 5 game weeks with 4. He ranks 3rd for shots-on-target among FPL midfielders, only Saka and B. Fernandes has landed more. Gundogan has created 4 big chances while only Son, De Bruyne, and Fernandes better his tally over that period of time. Man City has scored 12 goals in the last 5 game weeks, more than any other side. Their 86 shots are only bettered by Liverpool and they lead the way for shots-on-target. Man City faces West Brom, Sheffield and Burnley next, three sides they are expected to get pass through comfortably.

James Maddison (Midfielder) 7.1 Million

James Maddison
FPL Gameweek 20 Watchlist: James Maddison

James Maddison made hit 3 goals in three games after scoring in each of his double game week 19 fixtures. The Englishman revealed in his post-match interview after the win over Chelsea that he’s been working hard on increasing his goals tally by arriving in the box at the right time. We’ve seen him in action over the last three game weeks where he’s taken just 3 shots in the box but has hit the target and scored with each one, by comparison, his teammate Harvey Barnes has taken twice as many shots in the box over this period but has only scored with one of them. Leicester has favorable fixtures in the short and long term taking on Leeds and Fulham in the next three matches and facing just one team with a fixture difficulty racing higher than three over the next 10 game weeks. Moreover, in absence of Vardy, he will take the penalties and free-kicks which adds huge value to his name in FPL.

Note: With Kevin De Bruyne out for a injury spanning 4-6 weeks, inform Maddison might just be your best bet as his replacement.

Jack Grealish (Midfielder) 7.7 Million

Jack Grealish
FPL Gameweek 20 Watchlist: Jack Grealish

Aston Villa‘s two-nil defeat to Man City saw them play their first match in over three weeks following their recent coronavirus outbreak Jack Grealish attempted 3 assists during the match only Rodri and Foden offered more. No player has set up as many chances as his 58 throughout the season. Now while only De Bruyne has created more than his 12 big chances but the Englishman is sitting on four yellow cards and will receive a one-match suspension if he gets booked in any of his next three league matches. As is the case with Man City, Aston Villa has two matches still to be rescheduled which are likely to form future double game week. In addition to that, the Birmingham side is currently scheduled to face just one top-five side over the next 11 games that run includes favorable ties with Burnley Brighton Shef United and Fulham.

Patric Bamford (Forward) 6.7 Million

Patric Bamford
FPL Gameweek 20 Watchlist: Patric Bamford

With 1 goal and 2 assists in the last 5 game weeks, Bamford has an average of 5 FPL points/game. He has landed 10 shots from inside of the box while Vardy, Firmino, and Watkins better his tally. Only Cavani, Watkins & Lacazatte have created more big chances than his 3 over that period of time. Leeds have scored 6 goals over the last 5 game weeks only six teams have managed more. They took 50 shots and 17 shots-on-target in that period. After the last three disappointing results across all competitions, Leeds will look to go back to their winning ways as they travel to a fragile Newcastle side in game week 20.
