FPL Gameweek 31 Budget Wildcard Options
Here are some of the cheap budget options for your FPL Gameweek 31 Wildcard based on form and fixture that should help you fill the rest of your squad with cheap but budget-friendly good assets.
Kelechi Iheanacho (Forward) 5.8 million
Leicester City reached the FA Cup Semi-Final with a 3-1 win over Manchester United as in-form striker Kelechi Iheanacho scored twice that performance comes on the back of him netting 5 goals in his last four premier league appearances where he’s averaged 9.3 FPL points per game. The 24-year-old ranks top for big chances in that time with 7 while only Harry Kane has attempted more shots or landed more than his 7 efforts on target .
But he may soon find himself with more competition for a starting place with the injured
Barnes
and
Maddison
not far away from returns. The Foxes rank second only to the league leaders for goals and big chances in their respective last four league matches. After their meeting with Man City last gameweek, they welcome
West Brom Crystal Palace
and
Newcastle
to the King Power Stadium over the five gameweeks that follow.
Note
: Additionally, you may opt for
Dominic Calvert-Lewin
as an upgrade from Iheanacho if you have sufficient funds for the move.
Pedro Neto (Midfielder) 5.7 million
Wolves have largely struggled in front of goal this season but Pedro Neto has stepped up as their main man in the absence of Raul Jimenez the 21-year-old has played a direct hand in 12 of their 28 premier league goals . He ranks top amongst teammates for shots in total from inside the box and on target as well as for touches in the opposition’s box. Amongst all FPL midfielders only Mason Mount, De Bruyne, Greelish, and Bruno Fernandes has provided more than his 57 attempted assists and he ranks joint seventh for big chances created with 8 .
But it’s his fixtures over the next five gameweeks that primarily bring him into consideration as a wild card option. Wolves host Sheffield United, Burnley , and Brighton over that spell amongst away trip to Fulham and West Brom all teams that currently sit in the bottom six. With the fixtures getting tougher and tougher for Leeds , he comes as a like-for-like replacement for Raphinha .
Mason Mount (Midfielder) 7.1 million
Thomas Tuchel ‘s 14-game unbeaten start at Chelsea came to an end with a stunning 5-2 defeat to West Brom . Mason Mount was rested after his involvement for England over the international break but tapped in from close range after being called upon at the start of the second half despite his limited minutes only Matheus Pereira could better his 4 shots or his 0.54 expected goals figure during the match. The 22-year-old has notched 4 goals over the last eight gameweeks with only Gundogan, Bruno Fernandes , and Mahrez amassing more than his 45 FPL points amongst midfielders.
Throughout this entire season, only De Bruyne, Grealish, and Bruno Fernandes have provided more than his 69 attempted assists . The Blues have a fairly kind schedule over the next four game weeks facing Crystal Palace Brighton West ham and Fulham but rather worryingly they have only managed six goals in their last six matches.
Going back to Liverpool assets
Liverpool are right back in the mix for a top-four place after a dominant three-nil win over Arsenal it was the kind of performance we needed to see before heavily investing in their assets on the Wildcard draft, ahead of their encouraging end of season run.
Mohammed Salah (Midfielder) 12.4 million
The Reds fashioned 6 big chances a tally only matched by Newcastle during the gameweek and those were evenly distributed between Salah, Jota, and Mane . The big question on the Wild Card draft will be whether it’s worth splashing out on Salah in addition to the far more affordable Diogo jota.
The Egyptian king had 5 attempts at goal in total against the Gunners only Matheus Pereira and Kane have taken more in gameweek 30. He now ranks joint top amongst midfielders for big chances over the last five gameweeks while only Mahrez has fired more than his 10 shots in the box . Only Raphinha and Mahrez can better his 32 touches in the opposition box .
Trent Alexander Arnold (Defender) 7.3 million
Alexander Arnold claimed double figures for only a second time this season to further secure his place in the Wildcard draft. No defender has produced more than his 4 attempted assists in gameweek 30 while only Timo Werner, Pogba, and Redmond can equal his 2 big chances created across all positions. Over the last five gameweeks Luke Shaw is the only defender to return more points.
Meanwhile, tallies of 14 attempted assists and 4 big chances created see the Liverpool right-back ranking top amongst players in his position. The Reds have stepped up defensively in that time too keeping three clean sheets with only Chelsea and Man United earning more. Only West ham and Crystal palace have allowed fewer shots on target than Liverpool’s 16.
Diogo Jota (Midfielder) 6.9 million
Now back from injury Diogo Jota helped Liverpool get back to winning ways in one of their most recent premier league game scoring the only goal in a one-nil win against his former club. The Portugal international was in fine form prior to his enforced absence bagging 4 goals in five games between gameweek six and ten. He ranked joint third amongst midfielders for shots on target during that spell with seven only behind Grealish and Bruno Fernandes .
Amongst teammates, only Firmino could better his 9 shots in the box or his 4 big chances while only Robertson created as many big chances as his two. The reds have managed just three goals in their last four matches but have fashioned eight big chances trailing only five teams. They have arguably the easiest run of any side to end the season travelling to Leeds, West Brom and Burnley and hosting Newcastle, Southampton and Crystal Palace over their final eight matches.
