Remember with the international break going on now, so it’s an ideal time to be patient with transfers till the last day if you can afford to be. Here are five players who impressed in the previous game week, therefore currently in our FPL Gameweek 5 Watchlist who are possible options to transfer into the Fantasy team over the coming game weeks.
Jack Grealish (Midfielder) 7.1 million
The Champions were run rugged by a much improved Aston Villa side as Jack Grealish played a direct hand in 5 of the 7 goals . No player supplied more than his 5 attempted assists during the game week, a tally shared with De Bruyne, Sterling, and Son. The 25-year-old has attempted 3.3 assists per game with only Salah and De Bruyne fairing better amongst midfielders. Only Soucek , Mane, Barnes , and Salah have fired more than his 5 shots in the box . The 7-2 win ensured that Aston Villa maintains their perfect start to the season with 3 wins from 3 games. They have scored 11 goals over the last 3 game weeks with only Tottenham faring better. Only Liverpool, Everton, and Tottenham have had more than their 10 big chances. The Villains now have a fairly generous schedule up until game week 16 with Leicester and Arsenal the only fixtures with a difficulty rating higher than 3 before then.
Harry Kane (Forward) 10.6 million
Jose Mourinho returned to Old Trafford to oversee a 6-1 thrashing against his former club, with Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane running riot. The Tottenham forward took a league-best total of 7 shots during the game week while only hattrick hero Ollie Watkins fired more than his 4 efforts in the box. Kane continued to shine creatively too supplying yet another assist for Son after sending him through on goal with a quickly taken freekick. The England Captain now has a league-leading tally of 6 assists this season and no player has created as many as his 6 big chances . Spurs have scored 12 goals , joint best in the league along with Leicester and Everton . No side has fashioned as many as their 17 big chances , 3 more than Liverpool have had. There’s likely to be plenty more opportunities for them over the next four game weeks where they face West Ham, Burnley, Brighton, and West Brom.
Michail Antonio (Forward) 6.3 million
West Ham followed their 4-0 win over Wolves with an impressive 3-0 victory over Leicester, after Michail Antonio opened the scoring. He landed 3 shots on target in game week 4, only Ollie Watkins have managed more. Over the opening 4 game weeks, the 30-year-old ranks fourth amongst forwards with 12 shots in the box behind only Mitrovic, Calvert-Lewin , and Kane . The Hammers have scored 8 goals this season with 7 of those coming in the last two game weeks. During that time only Aston Villa have scored more goals and only Tottenham have taken more shots in the box. Their next three matches are tough as it gets on paper against Tottenham, City , and Liverpool , but those sides have kept just 1 clean sheet between them so far. The fixtures begin to improve from game week 8 however, starting with a home game against Fulham .
George Baldock (Defender) 5.4 million
Baldock picked up his first assist of the season against Arsenal before the international break, building on the 2 goals and 4 assists he managed in the 2019-20 campaign . The right wingback has completed 49 passes in the final third over the opening four game weeks to rank ahead of Alexander-Arnold and second only to Robertson amongst FPL Defenders. Only Castagna and Robertson can compare to his 9 touches in the oppositions’ box. Sheffield United have conceded 6 goals in their four matches keeping no clean sheets. But only Villa, Burnley, West Ham , and Everton have conceded fewer big chances than the Blade’s six. Their game week 5 opponent, Fulham have scored only three goals so far with only Sheffield United themselves scoring fewer. Only Burnley and West Brom have created fewer big chances than Fulham’s three. So this could be the game where Sheffield gets their much deserving clean sheet.
Ben Chilwell (Defender) 5.6 million
With Thiago Silva back now, and Chilwell is sure to be a nailed-on starter for Lampard this season. He is defensively decent and as well as going forwards. 5.6 million is certainly not cheap for a defender but with the attacking potential as displayed in his goal in the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace , he makes a decent buy. Chelsea’s next four fixtures include Southampton at home, followed by two away trips to Manchester United who has conceded 9 goals in their last two home games at Old Trafford and Burnley . After that, they face a Sheffield United side at home who are yet to keep a clean sheet this season. Chilwell is someone you can hold on to for the long term and can be a potential wildcard option for your early wildcard drafts.
Note: Keep it in mind, Chilwell was withdrawn from the England squad early after not featuring against Belgium in the international break . Although it was only a precaution for his prior foot injury, and he is back in the training. Keep an eye on Lampard’s press conference on Friday about the team news before making any early transfers to your FPL Squads.
