Jamshedpur FC has decided a change in personnel under the goal, that led them to buy an experienced campaigner in form of TP Rehenesh. Rehenesh is expected to be the first choice shot-stopper for the team. Pawan Kumar will challenge him for the spot, who was also brought in this season from NorthEast United FC. Niraj Kumar will act as the back-up choice to them.
Defence: Will the New Signings Shine?
A considerable amount is spent by the Jharkhand based team on their defense. Learning from last year’s mistake they have brought in big names like Peter Hartley and Stephen Eze to the defense. The duo is expected to form a solid center-back pairing. In the left-back position, new signing Ricky Lallwamawma will be in contention along with teenager Mandi. Laldinliana Renthlei and Karan Amin will also be looking to shine. They also possess talented backups in form of Narender Gehlot and Jitendra Singh, both are expected to be starters for the team in near future.
Midfield: A Position to Contemplate On
Jamshedpur’s midfield will have to depend a lot on Alex and Aitor Monroy to function in top form. Both foreigners are the most experienced players in the center of the pitch. Amarjit Singh Kiyam will assist them both in the midfield as he is continuing his ascent to become a national team regular. Issac Vanmalsawma will be the no.10 for the side and provide the creative spark. Alex has vast experience and possesses the versatility to slot in different positions in the midfield. Monroy is one of the few players who was a great performer for the side in a dismal last year. The trio of Amarjit, Alex, and Aitor Monroy will hold the key to Jamshedpur’s success in midfield.
Forwards: Exciting Signings Showing the Way
Jamshedpur pulled the biggest coup in the transfer market by pulling off the signing of Nerijus Valskis. Valskis was the golden boot winner last season by scoring the highest number of goals (15) in last season’s ISL. Valskis will be the main man in front of the goal. He will be provided a back-up in form of David Grande, a man the fans are well aware of. Jackichand Singh is also brought in the team and will be providing the much-needed pace to the team’s attack from the wings.
Fitzgerald will be on his opposite flank providing the option in attack as well as cutting in from outside and will try to score as much as he can. Bhupendar Singh and much-talented Aniket Jadhav along with Mobashir Rahman will come in as the super sub for the Jamshedpur based franchise.

The 57-year-old Scottish coach was termed as “Miracle Man” last season after pushing Chennaiyin into the ISL final from the bottom half of the league after coming in mid-season. He has managed in high profile clubs like Bolton, Burnley, Wigan, and Blackburn. He also had a stint in MLS with Houston Dynamo. He has managed in top competitions like Premier League, Championship, Scottish Premiership, and MLS. Jamshedpur will be hoping the Coyle emulate his performance for last season.

The Lithuanian striker doesn’t need any introduction to the ISL fans, the former Hapoel Tel Aviv striker is nothing short of a goal-machine. Throughout his career, he has scored 113 goals and registered 45 assists to his name. The Israel Cup winner is the man whose form will pretty much decide where Jamshedpur ends in the league table. Can he repeat his form from last season remains a question that only time can answer?

Amarjit Singh Kiyam
The former U17 team captain who led India in the Under 17 World Cup is our youth player to watch out for. His talent is so profound that he has already featured in the National Team as a teenager. The defensive midfielder has the destructive ability adding to that he is also a brilliant ball player and is comfortable with the ball. He is one of the most prominent talents, a host of Big Indian Clubs and International Clubs will be closely looking at him this season.
Jamshedpur FC will be looking to reach the play-offs for the very first time this season after spending wisely in the transfer window. Now it will be interesting to see, will the balanced side on paper looks comfortable or not in the real test on the pitch. Needless to say, we will keep an close eye on the Jamshedpur side.
