Overview

Liverpool FC was back in action after the elongated COVID-19 break in a 0-0 draw against Everton in the Merseyside Derby. Thus, Their wait for the elusive Premier League title after 30 years gets a bit stretched. Here’s our exclusive Liverpool vs Palace match preview for you.

The Reds will try to get back in form with a win on Wednesday. On the other hand, Palace is coming from a 2-0 win against Bournemouth and are looking to get in the race of European qualification.

Venue: Anfield, Liverpool

Time: 3 PM GMT

Team News

Our Liverpool vs Palace match preview also includes the predicted lineups of both teams.

Liverpool FC

The Reds after a draw against Everton are looking to get their groove back in the domestic league. With only 5 points distance from the title, Reds will try to finish the work in hand as quickly as possible. Winning against Eagles on Wednesday will give them the head start after the break.

The team will play a competitive match in Anfield after 3 long months, they will be looking for a sweet homecoming. Salah and Robertson are likely to get back in the starting eleven after missing out the Everton match due to injury. Salah was among the unused substitutes and Robertson was not even in the squad.

The return of the Egyptian and Scottish Captain will give the boost to Klopp’s men. The lack of creativity of the Reds was pretty much evident in the last match. They will look for corrective measures against Palace on Wednesday who have proved to be a big obstacle for the Reds in the recent years.

Salah and Robertson are back in contention for the game against Crystal Palace.

Liverpool will try to finish the season with the record of the team who won the league with most points, such was their domination with only 2 draws and 1 loss in the 30 matches they played this season. To achieve that they will have to win against Palace first and get some momentum back.

Crystal Palace

The Eagles are visiting the league leaders with an emphatic victory on their back. Hodgson’s boys’ return from the break was marked with a brilliant victory against Bournemouth. Palace will be looking to cause an upset on Wednesday by beating Liverpool.

Ex- Reds Boss Hodgson will be happy to remember, that Palace was the last team to beat Liverpool in a league game at Anfield. Palace isn’t that much from a potential European tour this season, so they will try to take that chance count and can cause trouble for Liverpool. With matches remaining against the six teams from the top 8 the road isn’t that rosy for the Eagles. But if they snatch points against league leaders Liverpool it will give them a strong motivation to go forward.

Xherdan Shaqiri and Nathaniel Clyne are out of the type due to long term injuries.
James Milner and Joel Matip both got injured in the Merseyside Derby and are likely to miss this match.
