He helped Malaga to qualify for the UCL for consecutive two times in 2011-12 and 12-13 seasons. They reached the quarter-final of 2012-13 UCL which still is their best performance in European competitions. He also let Villarreal to UCL semis. He won the English Premier League with Man City along with two league cups. His last club was West Ham where he was in charge until December 28 2019.
Manuel Pellegrini as new Real Betis manager: Situation and Task
Manuel Pellegrini uses 4-1-4-1 as his preferred formation. He is an attacking manager who likes to keep the ball under control. At Betis, he will get midfielders like Alena, Canales and Fekir who can easily do the job for him. Their problem of not creating big chances can also be solved under him. But he needs to reorganize his defence quickly. Betis’s defensive record is horrible this season. They have conceded 1.6 goals per match this season which is the 3rd lowest in the league. This will be the prime area of concern for him. But with his charismatic personality as a manager, he can sign premium players for the club to give them success.
Betis are currently at the 13th position in the La Liga table. Their sporting director Alexis Trujillo is in charge as the interim manager till the end of the season. The club announced that Pellegrini will remain in charge until 2023. The fans are really pumped up by this announcement and they are hoping to move forward under one of the best managers.
