Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich: The Bavarians setting up a strong squad for the future with Sane, Kouassi and Nubel
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

One of the most high-profile transfers of this summer, Leroy Sane to Bayern is finally official. Sane will sign a 5-year deal for Bayern Munich until June 2025. Bayern Munich would pay Manchester City an initial €49m (£44.7m) for Leroy Sane with another €11m in add-ons. Also, one of the most sought-after young centre-back of the world, Tanguy Kouassi was made official by the Bavarians from PSG until 2024. Former FC Schalke 04 goalkeeper Alexander Nubel completed his medical to Bayern Munich on June 30 on a free transfer for a 5-year-deal.

Bayern’s official announcement

Sane to Bayern: The Whole Episode

Bayern Munich has been pursuing German international Leroy Sane from 2019. The club’s longing to sign the best German players over the globe is known to all. Thus, it was of no surprise that Bayern would be hell-bent on signing Sane who is arguably the best left-winger of the country. Leroy Sane was aware of the desire of Bayern for a long time. He decided to wait to fight for Pep Guardiola‘s first team but luck didn’t favour him at all. Guardiola had far too many options and turned to Sane rarely. Sane was looking for a starting spot in a top European team.

For months, the German winger has looked destined to join the Bavarians and that’s now been confirmed for a fee worth less than €60 million. Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich was reportedly finalized at the beginning of August 2019. Sane, who would have become Bayern’s latest record transfer, was placed in the Manchester City starting XI against Liverpool in the FA Community Shield. In the shocking turn of events, Sane was forced to be subbed off in the 10th minute after suffering an ACL injury.

Sane has barely played football for almost one year. He has just played 1 match for Manchester City U23 team against Arsenal U23 team in Premier League 2. He made his first appearance in Premier League this season in the match against Burnley where he was subbed in for just last 11 minutes of the game, the match which Manchester City won 5-0.

Leroy Sané to Bayern Münich, here we go! As reported by @cfbayern total agreement has been reached between Bayern Münich and Manchester City. Paperworks time for the player – he’s going to sign until June 2025. 🛑 #MCFC #Bayern #transfers

— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 30, 2020
Fabrizio Romano tweeted a few days earlier about the deal.

Sane won’t be able to participate in Bayern Munich’s Champions League campaign for the rest of this season, where they are one of the favourites to win this time. Bayern Munich recently ended the Bundesliga campaign with another league title- their 8th consecutive League title. They created havoc in the league by scoring massive 100 goals and acclaiming 82 points whereas the 2nd-placed Borussia Dortmund could manage only 69 points. This was mainly due to the devastating trio of Lewandowski- Muller- Gnabry.

We can’t wait to see the quartet next season which will include Sane, which will undoubtedly be the most formidable attacking quartet of Europe next season as the Bavarians want to go all out for Champions League next season. The move of Sane to Bayern will create a panic among top European teams.

Leroy Sane is a pacy winger, who likes to dribble past opponent defenders with his devastating speed and cut inside to find the net and be lethal in the box. Apart from dribbling, he possesses exquisite ball control and extraordinary to take on defenders and find the odd man lurking in the box. He produced massive 67 goals+ assists in 96 games over the last 2 seasons before his injury for Manchester City, thus making him one of the best young prospects in Europe.

sane to bayern
City would definitely lose a great talent in Sane.

Sane had arrived at City from FC Schalke 04 in 2016 and has won 2 Premier League titles, 2 League Cups and 1 FA Cup with the Manchester club. He has been an able team player for Pep Guardiola and would find no problem in superposing into Hansi Flick’s system.

Kouassi and Nubel: Investments for the future

Kouassi deal made official on July 1.

Tanguy Kouassi is an 18-year-old French centre-back who played for Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in the 19/20 campaign after rising through their youth academy. He played 15 games for the club in all competitions this season and managed to get 3 goals and 3 assists. He has also completed 41 appearances for France U16, U17 and U18 teams.

Nubel completes his medical for Bayern.

23-year-old German goalkeeper Alexander Nubel completed his medical for Bayern Munich on June 30, 2020. He had agreed to join the Bavarians on January 4, 2020. He is said to be the long-term replacement for German and Bayern Munich legend and captain Manuel Neuer. He has played for FC Schalke 04 from 2016 and has made 77 appearances for the club , also having completed 17 appearances for the U21 team.

Bayern would definitely be a force to reckon with next season. What is your take on this? Let us know in the comment section below.
