After much speculation, the Sergio Reguilon transfer saga has finally come to a close as Sergio Reguilon joins Tottenham on a permanent deal. The Spanish full-back has signed a 5-year deal with the Premier League outfit. Initially Manchester United was leading the race but they stepped back because of the buy-back clause that Real Madrid wanted to implement into the contract paper. Tottenham agreed to the terms and conditions of Real Madrid and went through the deal and now Sergio Reguilon joins Tottenham on a permanent deal. The deal was announced by Spurs across their website as well as their social media accounts.
Sergio Reguilon joins Tottenham: Contract details
As Sergio Reguilon joins Tottenham, the premier league club will pay around £30 Million to Real Madrid as they complete a 5 year deal for the Spanish full-back. What change can the Spanish full-back bring to White Hart Lane
Reguilon has been exceptionally well this season with Sevilla. Mourinho‘s tactics of overlapping full-backs will suit him perfectly and that would help create chances for Tottenham from wider areas. The wide play at the flanks would increase with the arrival of the Spaniard and would give the London side an extra thump.
He is an ideal modern-day left-back with some serious pace. His ability to move up and down the pitch is extraordinary. His ability to track back is great. Last season he assisted four times for Sevilla. Tottenham will be possessing a great threat with deep-lying players like Reguilon and Aurier.
Tottenham finished at 6th place last season and will be playing UEFA Europa League qualifiers which are not acceptable from a club like Tottenham Hotspurs. So Jose Mourinho along with Daniel Levy is looking to introduce players like Reguilon and Bale to bring the glory days back to the London side. Fans are excited about this signing and are hopeful for some top-class display of football.
